In late 2012 a fire occurred on the Valley Isle Resort property. The fire was limited to the 1 and 2 story commercial piece of property that is fully separate from the 12-story high-rise where the vacation condos are located. This webpage has been created to provide our guests detailed information on how the vacation rental properties have been impacted and the current recovery progress.
Following several legal roadblocks from the owner of the commercial complex, the debris cleaup will start April 30th and will be completed early to mid June. We will provide regular updates on this web site as the cleanup progresses. |

The high-rise building, which contains all condo units, was not involved in the fire. Other than the temporary access, and some enclosed hallways, the property is the same. All previous amenities including sandy beach, and the pool and barbeque areas are available for use. Because of the temporary changes, your first view of the Resort will not be very attractive, but once in the condo you will still have the same quality accommodations and breathtaking view as were available prior to the fire. |

![]() The lobby area and pass-through entry way used to access the high-rise are located in the commercial building and were involved in the fire. This has required establishing an alternative access to the high-rise building, shown on the far left side of the picture at the end of the one-story building, and a temporary front office located in room 105 on the ground floor of the high-rise. Additional signage has been added to clearly mark these new locations. |
||||
![]() The new entry is clearly marked with the Valley Isle Resort sign and a new sidewalk has been installed for easy access with luggage from the parking lot. |
![]() The new temporary access walkway to the high-rise passes along-side the pool area. |
|||
![]() New pool furniture is now in place, the walkway plywood has been painted to reduce the "construction zone" appearance, and the pool area is back to normal for guests to relax and enjoy. |
![]() Our popular barbeque area is open for all guests to use. |

Temporary plywood barriers have been installed along the open hallways facing the fire area on all floors to prevent additional soot or odors from entering the condo units until all fire debris has been removed. During the debris removal all dust and other contaminents will be closely monitored to assure they remain within the dust barrier. Once all debris has been removed, the plywood barriers on the highrise building will be removed. |
![]() Enclosed hallways on back side of building do not impact ocean views from any condo. Air vents with hepa-filters to impove air-flow have been added to temporary plywood barriers. |

The following video taken on October 25, 2012, shows what you will encounter as you walk from the parking lot into the high-rise building and through to the elevators. It also shows some of our beautiful grounds and beach that are untouched by the ongoing fire recovery. This video was recorded before the new pool chairs arrived and other improvements were made. The still pictures above better reflect the current appearance of the Resort. |
